Aqeedah Ahle Sunnat (Barelvi)

In Islamic terminology, Aqeedah means to believe in something with certainty and without any doubt. There are some principles of aqeedah mentioned in the Quran that a Muslim must believe in whole heartedly

“The Messenger believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Every one of them believes in Allah, His angels, His Books, and His Messengers. They say: “We make no distinction between one and anotherof His Messengers” – and they say: “We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return (of all).” (Surah al-Baqarah:285)

In this section of islamic lessons for kids we learn about: Types of aqeedah Meaning of aqeedah The creed of faith

1-Toheed

Allah (the Mighty and Majestic) is One,none is His partner, neither in essence/being (Zaat), nor in attributes (Sifat), nor in actions (Af’al) ,nor in commands/rulings

2-Risalat

Allah Almighty sent down scrolls (Suhuf) and Heavenly Books upon many Prophets. Among them, four books are very famous: the “Tawrat” upon Prophet Moses (peace be upon him), the “Zabur” upon Prophet David (peace be upon him), the “Injil” upon Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him), and the “Glorious Qur’an”, which is the most superior of all books, upon the most superior Messenger, the light-filled, chosen Ahmad, Muhammad (may Allah Almighty’s peace and blessings be upon him). (2)

3-Aqeedah Khatm e Nabuwat

The Prophet (Muhammad Peace be upon him) is the Khatam-un-Nabiyyin (Seal of the Prophets) (1). This means that Allah (the Mighty and Majestic) has terminated the chain of Prophethood with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), such that no new prophet can appear during his time or after him (2).
Whoever considers anyone to be a prophet or deems it permissible to acknowledge the prophethood of anyone during the Prophet’s time or after him is a disbeliever (Kafir)

3-Revering (Taz'zeem) E Rasool

Revering (Taz’zeem) E Rasool (peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him), Revering the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him), meaning believing in his greatness, is a part of faith and a pillar of faith (1). And the act of reverence (Ta’zeem) takes precedence over every obligatory duty (2) after having faith.

The importance of this is evident from the Hadith where, upon returning from the Battle of Khaybar, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) offered the ‘Asr prayer at a place called Sahba and then rested his blessed head upon the lap of Mawla Ali (May Allah Almighty be pleased with him). Mawla Ali had not yet offered his ‘Asr prayer. He saw with his eyes that the time was passing, but he did not move his knee, fearing that moving it might disturb the Holy Prophet’s blessed sleep. He kept his knee still until the sun set.

When the Holy Prophet’s blessed eyes opened, Mawla Ali submitted the situation of his prayer. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) commanded, and the set sun returned! Mawla Ali offered his prayer, and then the sun set again (3).

This proves that Mawla Ali sacrificed the most virtuous of worships—prayer, and that too the middle prayer, ‘Asr (4)—for the sake of the Holy Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) sleep!
